Lets get one thing clear from the beginning … Article Marketing is all about “quantity”! The more articles you distribute the more successful you will be at building long term traffic sources and higher search engine rankings.

At the end of the day, a reasonable proportion of the articles you write won’t rank very well and won’t actually appear in front of many eyeballs. But by writing more articles your chances of getting some to rank well or get a lot of page views is increased, and when one does hit the target, it will make you money for a long time to come.

Writing the odd article is really unlikely to bring you any success. You need to keep a constant stream of new articles flowing. Even if they don’t see many eyeballs, they build links that over time will push all of your sites up the rankings.

Article marketing is a long term strategy that has two main purposes. Firstly every time one of your articles is published on another site, it provides one new route for someone to find your site. If you can get every article to appear on hundreds or thousands of sites, the chances of people stumbling across your site increases dramatically.

Secondly, the more links you have pointing to your sites, the better they will rank in the main search engines, which means you will receive a lot more free traffic over time as well.

Finally here is an important point to take in. Don’t just submit your articles to Article Directories, that is a total missed opportunity. As you will see below, you can use each article to build a variety of link types back to your sites. By building a variety of links, they will appear more natural to the search engines and as a result, you will achieve even better rankings.

The key to success online, as with any off line business, it simply to do the things that work over and over again, and to stop doing things that don’t work. Could it be any simpler? So why do so many online marketers fail to make any serious money?

The answer is usually that we stray off our plan very quickly. An email drops in to our mail box promoting an ebook or course that promises to make you $50,000 in 7 days, and we feel compelled to buy it, because you never know, it just might work!

And even after buying loads of these ebooks, we keep on buying them as though we are addicted, and possibly we are. Yet none of the strategies seem to fill our paypal or clickbank accounts. So are they all junk?

Some are definitely junk, but others are excellent resources. Yet the excellent ones don’t make us rich because before we have given them a decent chance of success, we switch to another strategy!

Think of online marketing as a journey to your pot of gold. What is usually the shortest route to a destination? Usually it’s a straight line. By changing our strategies all of the time, we are constantly zig-zagging in all directions, instead of staying on our initial course.

With online marketing it takes a lot of focus and discipline to stay on one strategy for any length of time, yet that is what you must do.

My new years resolution was to stay focused this year on a simple niche marketing strategy that is proven to work. It’s not sexy and it’s not fast, but it works. 5 months on and my earnings are $50 a day. They would have been higher had I not took the first two months to get the process perfected.

All I’m doing is focusing on keyword research, article marketing and link building. Do the keyword research, publish a keyword focused site, write articles, get links, rinse and repeat! Over and over again. It works. It’s very basic, but it works over time. As I build more sites and get more links to them, they earn more and more money.

Now, a couple of services in particular have allowed me to automate the content production and link building tasks, and as a result the number of high ranking sites I can produce quickly has gone through the roof, meaning that in the next two months I fully expect to be earning $200 a day.

For the last 5 months I’ve been so wrapped up in my niche marketing strategy that I’ve simply neglected both this blog and my list of subscribers. I took a conscious decision at the beginning of January to really focus in 2009 on just one strategy for online success, and to not get distracted by my inbox!

Focus is definitely one of the critical keys to success. It’s so easy in the online game to get thrown from one path to another as each new “game changing” product is released.

My niche marketing strategy is not “game changing”. It simply takes proven strategies and uses a couple of awesome tools to automate it’s repetition over and over again! And believe it or not the tools I use are very cheap!

From my previous emails, you’ll know that when Alex Goad launched Google Conquest back in December, I joined. It was not cheap … $995 to join and $97 per month thereafter!

Was it money well spent?

Well yes it was … I have learnt a lot from it and paying so much for the pleasure has definitely kept me focused. Taking what Alex has taught me, plus a couple of tools I discovered myself, my strategy has really paid off, in particular in the last three months.

My strategy now is to reinvest all of my earnings in to further automation of tasks, launching more sites and to stay focused on repeating this process over and over again, simply because IT WORKS!

If your internet marketing efforts are not bringing you the rewards you were hoping for, you should read this short story and possibly it will help you sharpen your aim …

I used to play golf, but haven’t played for a while … a wife, 2 kids and internet marketing get in the way! When I did play, for a long time, I hovered around the 90 stroke mark. Not bad, but I knew that I could do better.

One day I was playing with a friend, we were about 100 yards from the pin and I was I lining up my shot to the green.

My friend looked at me and asked, “What are you going to aim at when you take this next swing?”

I looked at him like he was an idiot. “Obvioulsy I’m going to aim at the green!”

He grinned and then said, “You’re aiming at the wrong thing.”

Of course he was right and I was wrong! As he pointed out, I should have been aiming at the hole!

This was so interesting. My entire thought process was to aim at the green. Yet he object of the game is to get it in the hole. Why would I aim at something that wasn’t the ultimate goal?

The thing is more often than not I was missing the green, so in reality was a mile from achieving the ultimate goal!

So with a new mindset in place, I started aiming at the hole … what a brilliant idea.

Within a short space of time, I took my average score down to the low 80’s. Not only did I stop aiming solely for the green, I also changed the way I practised. Instead of focusing on how far I could smash the ball, I started spending more time on my short game. I started spending more time on the green putting, and I bought myself a decent putter. This new found focus on actually getting the ball in the hole made a huge amount of difference to my game, my enjoyment and my results!!!

What’s the point of all this with regard to internet marketing? Well basically you’re probably aiming at the wrong thing with your day to day tasks.

For example, your goal is to make a lot of money. Your flag is your Adsense account or Clickbank account. Instead of putting a ball in a hole, you want to put cash in your accounts.

Whatever your strategy, you goal is the same. Your goal is not to increase your traffic, it’s to increase your buyers … for example, with affiliate marketing, your target is to convert visitors to your site into buyers of the product you’re promoting. Therefore your focus should be on how you differentiate your promotion from that of other affiliates?

If all you do is put up the same banners as other affiliates, you won’t make that many sales. But if you add something to the offer that will improve your conversion rate, the differentiation will increase your sales. If you increase your sales you can afford to pay more to attain your traffic and therefore increase your sales again … you’ll keep putting the ball in the hole!

I hope this story helps you think about what you are focusing on … everything you do should be concerned with getting cash in your account …

Following on from my previous post, I thought I’d update you on my progress in attempting to rank my Incorporation site on the first page of Google for the term “small business incorporation” ….

A few weeks have passed and up until the last couple of days I’d made very little progress to the point where I believe the linking strategies employed by the Kingspoint team actually damaged my rankings for that particular term … although it did work well with MSN!

So because of that, I decided to add a specific page targeting the keyword … and now you can see that page is at No.21 … pretty sure I can crack page 1 in the next few weeks, particularly with the linking power of Google Conquest added to my SEO arsenal!

Google is all about links, links from different IP addresses … that is what I’ve added to my SEO toolbox in the last few months … my niche sites are just starting to see the results of the hard work …

Well I’ve neglected this blog over the last few weeks … been really busy setting up niche sites … literally own over 200 domain names now!! So as you can imagine, even with some automation, building sites has taken over my life!

So my strategy … build niche sites, build automated blogs, fill them with Adsense, Product Feeds and CPA Offers … and then build links … lots and lots of links to them …

This strategy works … not overnight, and there are a lot of up front costs … but over the next few months this will pay well …

And that’s why I splashed another $997 last night on Google Conquest … the latest big launch … IF I CAN’T MAKE A LOT OF MONEY WITH THIS MEMBERSHIP I’M GONNA GIVE UP FOREVER!!!

Last week I bought the “Ultimate Search Engine Loophole” by Chris Rempel and Dave Kelly (Linkvana fame) … it basically shows you how to consistently rank on MSN on the first page of their search engine results for almost any two or three word keyword phrase.

Having read it, I’d say it has a pretty good chance of working, their results would certainly indicate that to be the case … they reckon it takes anywhere from 1 week to 3 weeks for your web site to appear on page one, usually in one of the top 3 spots … now that’s a pretty big claim …

Well over the last week I’ve put together about 5 web sites exactly as they prescribe so we’ll see if the system works over the next couple of weeks … BUT … before you rush out and buy it, WAIT!!!!!!!!!

There is more to this system than just buying the ebook … you will need other tools, tools that a lot of people won’t have … so WAIT until my results are in … if it works (or if it doesn’t) I will share my results with you and tell you a little bit more about the system … if it does work then it will be a brilliant way of pulling MSN traffic for high traffic keywords … so watch this space over the next two weeks …

Well I’m now an even bigger fan! Their new Article Trickle feature is awesome. Not only can you now submit 100’s of unique articles to hundreds of directories and ezines, but you can set them to be submitted over a specified period of time rather than all on the same day!

Now think about this … you’ve just published a new niche site and you want to get it indexed quickly and get some visitors to it whilst you wait for it to appear in the Search Engine rankings. Thanks to SubmitYourArticle you can now, with just one base article, get hundreds of links, with different anchor text pointing to different pages on the site in minutes, or you can “trickle” the links to your pages over days, weeks or months, giving that natural feel to your linking pattern that the search engines like to see to new sites … It really is a must if you’re into niche marketing!

Anchor text variation is important because the search engines such as Google like to see natural linking patterns. When natural linking occurs, anchor text links appear as many different phrases. This is what you need to replicate as closely as possible.

Submit Your Article.com provides a service called “Article Leverage”, it’s a standard feature of your membership. What Article Leverage does is allow you to distribute multiple versions of your original article in just a few minutes. Your “multiple versions” can include lots of different anchor text links, which is just what we’re looking for!

Let me explain a little more how it works …

First, you write an article of around 400 – 600 words, with a bio box as well.
Next you copy and paste it into the SubmitYourArticle template.
Then you turn on Article Leverage.

Article Leverage first of all asks you for at least two variants of your article title. It then asks you for at least one variant of each paragraph of your article. Finally it asks you for at least 2 further variants of your bio box.

You can add more variants of each element, those quoted above are the minimum numbers. I always add at least 10 keyword rich Title variants, at least 3 variants of the opening paragraph and then at least one variant of the remaining paragraphs (keep your paragraphs short for the best results).

Adding all those variants doesn’t actually take long. What it achieves is a really high level of uniqueness to each article version spun by article leverage. Your original article literally becomes hundreds of unique articles! Now content spinners are not new, but the beauty of this one is that it actually submits the different versions to different article directories and ezines, so there is literally no duplicate content to worry about. Do this process just 8 times each month and you’ll distribute hundreds of unique articles all over the web!

Going back to anchor text patterns, I always try and add 10 “bio box” versions to the article as well. Your article “bio” includes a link back to your site. So by creating 10 or more variants, I can use different anchor text in each one, pointing back to different pages on my site. Or I can use the same anchor text twice say for my main keyword phrase, just changing the remaining text in the bio box.

Literally with a click of a button I can create hundreds of backlinks all with different anchor text. Plus I can burn my SubmitYourArticle RSS feed and distribute it to all the RSS feed directories, multiplying the number of inbound links even further.

The Article Leverage feature is awsome, especially now that you can combine it’s power with their new Article Trickle feature …

Hi,

I’ve been busy on other projects just recently and am guilty of neglecting my blog! One of my last posts was about the Kingspoint Project and how the Atomic Package had failed to live up to mine or Keith’s expectations …

So I decided to see if I could build the traffic to my Incorporation site on my own, and also to see if I could improve the rankings of the site for the term “small business incorporation” …

Well Google has turned out to be a tough nut to crack … I’m starting to think that the tactics employed by the Atomic project have harmed the site for that term (it ranks well for other terms in the niche) … I’ve managed so far to move the site from page 18 to page 14! Although that move has only happened in the last couple of days .. so it might start to surge forward now

MSN Live is a different story though … see below:

As you can see in a very competitive market we’re showing on page one …. we weren’t before so at least some progress!!

As for traffic, that has definitely improved and I’m consistently seeing between 30 and 50 uniques every day (even weekends) … and my Adsense income from the site is better than ever!!

So we’ll see what happens to the site in the next few days … I have tried one other tactic now to get ranked well in Google for the search term Small Business Incorporation … we’ll see if it works …

My next post will be about Chris Rempel’s new product (you’ve probably seen it), all about ranking on page one of MSN quickly, in the top 3 places …. well I bought it and am now testing it out … will talk more about it tomorrow …

A couple of weeks ago I had an email from a guy at Google Adwords saying that the Adwords campaign for my Keyword Elite page had been paused as there was a problem with my web page. The email was really impersonal and simply referred me to their terms of service. Well I just could not see what was wrong with the page, it hadn’t been changed for months, yet now it was a problem! So I replied to the email and asked for guidance? None was forthcoming.

So I made a couple of changes to the page and the Adwords Ad itself and resubmitted it. Within a couple of days I had a new email stating that my page was still invalid and if I tried running the campaign again my Adwords account would be terminated and that should I open a new account I would be in trouble! Charming!

I replied again begging for more guidance to which I got a reply … it stated that my page didn’t comply with their terms and conditions … how frustrating!

The sooner someone comes along and destroys their dominance the better … would it actually harm them to offer a more precise reason for the non conformance … they obviously know what is wrong so why not share it with me!

Now what has really bugged me is that they have dropped my page out of their rankings! It was hovering just off page 1 of the serps. But since the Adwords problem it has disappeared without a trace!

So last night I bought a new domain, www.keywordelitemasterplan.com and published a new sales page … I’ve set a new Adwords campaign going so we’ll see if they like it or not … if anyone can spot what they don’t like on my original page, Keyword Elite, please let me know … maybe I’m been stupid, but I can’t see what they don’t like!

Not posted for a while due to family commitments, but I wanted to write this post in reply to a comment on my last post …

In my last post, I mentioned that one of the services I use is Article Marketer.

One of my readers, Neil, left a comment saying that the service he’d received from them was less than great should we say, and that he’d read bad reviews. All I can say is that so far I’ve had no problems, all my articles have been distributed in a timely manner and I’ve had no technical problems … I do use the paid service though and not the free one.

I’ve taken some sample screenshots of the kind of backlinks you can expect from an article … take a look at these … they’re all articles I’ve written and distributed using this service …

In this screenshot you can see Yahoo has over 1400 results for the title of my article … if you go and search yourself you’ll see my name as the author!

So basically, in my experience the service does what it says on the tin … it automates the distribution of articles to hundreds, if not thousands of directories and ezines … with minimal effort on your part … obviously others have had problems, but personally I only have positives to report …

Where has this week gone???????????

Ok, as I reported in my last post Keith Baxter has pulled the Atomic Project and I’m waiting to see the replacement … which he promises will bring better results … as I said in my last post, I still recommend you take a look at his site, the Kingspoint Project, it’s full of some top info that you don’t see elsewhere… even as a free member the info on offer is excellent!

So I’ve decided to use some of the tools I’ve discovered (some from Keith’s site) to see if I can move my ranking for the keyword he targetted. As of the start of the week my site was ranked 194th in Google for the term small business incorporation.

So this week I have submitted one article using the services of Article Marketer, and one article using the article leverage service of Submit Your Article. (the article leverage service allows you to distribute a separate version of your article to each directory and ezine, it’s pretty cool).

I’ve also outsourced the writing of 25 blog posts, that will each appear on separate blogs giving me 25 keyword targeted one way links back to my site. I’ve also started bookmarking my site with a social bookmarking service I subscribe to.

Tomorrow I will issue a press release and make a couple of blog posts on a couple of other decent page rank blogs that I have access to … and then we’ll see what happens over the next couple of weeks as the articles and blog posts go live …

Next week I may add some additional content / pages to the Incorporation site based on some keyword research using Keyword Elite, to attract some more traffic to the site.
